My First Day as a 9/12'er

I've been meaning to for some time, but finally got around to joining the 9/12 project in my local chapter here in Davis County, Utah. First impressions will make or break your desire to return to any new group or club. Let's just say, not only am I going back, but plan to volunteer and participate. The days of just sitting back and voting are over.

What a great group of people, all concerned citizens, and the cohesiveness of group was felt on my first day, bound by a love of country and a geniune concern of the path the country is going.  We had great discussion from state represemtatives on a variety of items before the Utah State legislature. These speakers knew their stuff and it was evident in their delivery.

The first item discussed was "Where is the line, America?", HB0076, sponsored by Rep. Ken Ivory.
Rep. Ken Ivory

Here is a synopsis, along with a sample letter you can send to your state reps.

It's lengthy, but your reward at the end of the blog is a youtube video! ___________________________________________________

State Representative HB0076-Where’s The Line, America?
Please contact your Representative and ask him/her to vote YES on HB0076.

Sample encouraging note:

Dear Representative _____________________,

James Madison stated, “The State Legislatures will jealously and closely watch the operations of this Government, and be able to resist with more effect every assumption of power, than any other power on earth can do; and the greatest opponents to a Federal Government admit the State Legislatures to be sure guardians of the people’s liberty.”

In order to abide by your constitutional oath and erect barriers at the constitutional line and jealously and closely watch the operations of the federal government, the Utah Federal Law Evaluation and Response Act is being presented this session. This is the action which starts the conversation “Where’s the Line, America?”

This bill will be voted on by the House this week. Please vote YES.

Sincerely,

Larry Hilton and Rep. Brad Galvez discussed HB317, the "sound money" bill.  They did a great job taking a complex subject and making it understandable.   Get more info at utahsoundmoney.org.
